Warehouse floors take a beating. Forklifts roll. Boxes slide. Dirt comes in on shoes. If the floor is dirty, people can slip or trip. Good news: a few simple habits can make a big difference.

1) Sweep every day - Sweep at the start and end of each shift. Get dust, sand, and small trash. Use a wide broom or a floor sweeper. Focus on doors, docks, and aisles.
2) Clean spills fast - Spills happen. Oil, water, soap, or drinks can turn into a slip risk in seconds. Put out a “Wet Floor” sign. Wipe it up right away. If it is oily, use a degreaser made for floors.
3) Mop the right way - Mop with clean water. Change the water when it looks gray. Dirty water just spreads grime. Let the floor dry before traffic returns.
4) Use floor mats - Place mats at entrances and break areas. Mats catch dirt and water before it hits the floor. Shake them out and clean them often.
5) Keep aisles clear - Clutter is a trip hazard. Mark walk paths with bright tape. Store items off the floor when you can. A clear aisle is a happy aisle.
6) Check for damage - Look for cracks, holes, and rough spots. These can catch wheels and cause falls. Report damage early. Small repairs cost less than big ones.
7) Plan a deep clean - Set a weekly or monthly deep clean. Scrub and degrease high-traffic zones. For some floors, machine scrubbing helps a lot.
