A job site may look done when the work ends. But dust, tape, trash, and marks may still be there.A good final clean helps make the site safe and ready to use.

Use this list before you hand over the building.

1. Pick Up Trash

Start with the big mess.

Pick up boxes, tape, wood, plastic, and other waste. Check each room, hall, stair, and work area.

Take all trash out before the deep clean starts. Make sure no sharp items or loose parts are left on the floor.

2. Clean Dust From High Spots

Dust can sit on vents, lights, pipes, ledges, and doors.

Clean from high to low. This keeps dust from falling on spots you just cleaned.

Check corners and spots that are hard to see. A small amount of dust can stand out in a new space.

3. Wipe Walls and Doors

Work crews can leave dust and marks on walls, doors, trim, and baseboards.

Wipe each area with the right tool and soap.

Look for tape, glue, and small marks that need more care.

4. Clean Glass

Clean all windows, glass doors, and mirrors.

Take off dust, prints, tape, and labels.

Clean glass can make the whole space look bright and new. Check both sides of glass when you can.

5. Clean the Floors

Floors can hold a lot of dust after a build.

Sweep or vacuum first. Then mop or scrub as needed.

Check the edges, corners, and spots under fixtures. Do a second pass if dust is still on the floor.

6. Clean the Restrooms

Clean all sinks, toilets, mirrors, counters, walls, and floors.

Wipe dust from vents and lights.

Make sure each room looks clean and smells fresh.

7. Clean Break Rooms

Wipe sinks, counters, shelves, and cabinets.

Check for dust inside drawers and on top of shelves.

Take off any tape or labels left from the job.

8. Check Small Spots

The small things can make a big change.

Check door handles, light switches, signs, rails, and outlets.

Do not skip closets, back rooms, or small storage areas.

9. Do a Final Walk

Walk the whole site when the clean is done.

Look at each room as if you were the new owner.

Fix any missed spots before the handoff. This last check can help stop small issues from being seen by the client.
